 Facebook's Beginning

started with it's creator

Mark Zuckerberg lunching' Thefacebook' in February 2004. In this early stage of his company Mark limited the site's users to only his fellow university mates at Harvard and saw 50% of Harvard students  signed up. That changed in September 2006 when the platform was available to anyone aged 13 and older.

And saw a steady increase of users form: 12millon in December 2006 to 300millon by September 2009.

Facebook's entrance into Business Marketing and Sales

May 2007 Facebook lunched Marketplace to the platform ,it's function was to allow users to post products or services they were selling/providing .By late 2007 Facebook saw the an increase of over 100,000 business using the platform. Facebook then started formulating plans so even small scale businesses can benefit and get revenue from using the platform. In lieu of this Facebook lunched new features such as Facebook Chat ,People you may know, Facebook Wall and Facebook connect these in features increased the volume of users on the platform thus getting business pages sufficient traffic viewing their pages or seeing their ads on the platform.

My Favorite thing about this site is :The Flexibility Facebook provides for business creation

Facebook's business accessibility didn't stop at Marketplace, the platform continued to innovate to allow for a diverse range of businesses such as the creation of Facebook Watch which allowed for the Emmy Award winning talk show Red Table Talk hosted by Celebrity actress Jada Pinkett Smith ,her daughter and her mother to be made.
